10 Practical Ways to get out of a Funk

Roses are red, here are my go-to methods to stop feeling blue!

We may find ourselves in a funk and unable to find the motivation or strength to move out of it. Sometimes life is just super duper hard. Other times we are dealing with not-so-optimal health. Or maybe you're just in a crappy mood. Whatever the case, here are some practical tips to help you move from not feeling it to happy girl.

  1. What’s your favorite? Fill your world with a few of your favorite things. Fave color lipstick and nail polish combo. Favorite perfume. Favorite dinner and movie. They are your favorites for a reason, lean into them and enjoy!

  2. Take a hot bath. Fill the tub with soothing scents, add a new loofah and body wash, and lather yourself with an in-shower body oil. imagine the heaviness of your day melting away down the drain.

  3. Take a nap. Sometimes we need to just press pause on life and climb back into bed.

  4. Be patient and gracious with yourself. Dishes aren’t done? Laundry has been in the basket for two days? Let that be okay, ‘cause we both know when you’re feeling up to it, you can clean the house like a marathon!

  5. Call up a friend and enjoy. Sometimes a walk in someone else’s perspective is all we need to remind ourselves that we are loved, and celebrated and that life always gets better.

  6. Cuddles! Play with the kids, pets, or stuffed animals in your life! The softness and carefree nature of being present and enjoying the moment can make all the difference.

  7. Girl, have you eaten? Eat a warm, yummy meal cause hangry will sneak up on you and have you out here rough!

  8. Vitamins Please. Talk to your physician about what supplements you can add to your diet! Cause girl some B-Complex can do wonders!

  9. Move your body! Dance, try pilates, go for a walk, try a 10-minute exercise routine. Some upbeat music and movement can make a sad day one filled with giggles real quick!

  10. Get some Sun. Lack of sunlight affects our health in a myriad of ways, go bask in the warm sun for a few minutes and see how those sun rays perk you right on up.
